Based on our research and years of parenting, we have specialized in an engaging method of inspiring children to want to read. This method is simple yet effective because it plays on the child's emotional attachment to non-threatening characters. Although some children are afraid of anyone dressed in costume, known as"Masklophobia," statistics show most children and adults are more engaged and excited about a product or place when mascots are involved. This is why they are so prevalent in corporate marketing, from Disney to professional sports.

We use our mascots HipHop & Friends to first engage the child. This method of engaging a child has been proven most effective from our experience. The majority of children and parents we come in counter with, are instantly drawn to them. Both parents and child want to meet, interact, and take pictures. HipHop & friends are children themselves between the ages of 6 and 13, which makes them much less threatening to a child who might have a phobia. The characters are small, bright, and colorful. Younger children really can identify with their colors and this makes interaction even easier.

Once we have the child engaged, we then add excitement. Before we can implement our message, we believe it's important for the child and characters to have fun with one another. A connection is made when HipHop & Friends play and dance with the children. We have learned that it's the small things that make a big difference. Many children have become so emotionally attached through this experience, they often leave feeling like they made a best friend. This is important for the next few steps because it really solidifies the effect. Most of the children we visit haven't been to Disney or Chuck E Cheese's but dream of going. This small act of kindness by HipHop & Friends will leave a positive memorable impact.

This part goes hand in hand with exciting the child. We then surprise them, so of course this adds another level of excitement. The characters give the children two brand new books along with stickers gift wrapped like it was Christmas. Why wrap the books? Wrapping the books adds value to them. Now the message in the books and the experience they have with the characters is much more important. Who doesn't like getting a present? The unexpected gift becomes the most memorable one.

Our books deal with real social issues that many children go through today. HipHop & Friends not only wants to inspire children to read, but to " Believe , Love, and Give." HipHop & Friends is committed to make our communities better and we believe our work along with these principles can reshape generations to come.

We will establish partnerships with local performing arts schools for children in At-Risk communities. Working together, we will be able to create a HipHop & Friends theatrical show. Each child who participates in the show will have their school fees paid for by HipHop & Friends. Once we have an established show, we will offer it to elementary schools as an educational program.

We will establish partnerships with national organizations to help implement HipHop & Friends creative writing classes. These classes will offer children a chance to have fun with characters from the books and be creative. We will then publish the children's work to give them a great sense of worth and accomplishment. We will see to it, each participating child has a book being sold on AMAZON.COM, to teach entrepreneurship and build self esteem.

We will establish more chapters across America, employing more young adults until we are nation wide. With the help of our partners and televised media this should be an obtainable goal within ten years, if not sooner. Once HipHop & Friends has received national exposure, we will start to reward underprivileged young people with "SCHOLARSHIPS."

We will establish ourselves in Africa, India, and South America. By this time we will have the resources to do what it takes to help communities that are suffering from poverty and neglect. HipHop & Friends are passionately committed to making a positive global impact. We want to be the voice of children all over the world. "Believe, Love, and Give," and together we can make a difference.
